I’m a mother.

That alone shapes how I look at everything, time, responsibility, decisions, and what actually matters.

I’m raising my kids here. That means I don’t just care about this community in theory. I live it every day.

I’m also someone who spends time outside, not just talking about it.

I snowmobile. I’m out on the trails. I see firsthand how much of this community runs on volunteers, effort, and people just getting things done without recognition.

I understand what it takes to maintain what we have, not just build new things.

I run my own business.

I deal with people, problems, timelines, and pressure every day. There’s no passing things off, no waiting for someone else to fix it.

I’ve worked inside structured systems such as the courts.

I’ve also worked outside of them, helping people navigate things that aren’t always clear or consistent.

And I’ve been part of building something from the ground up, organizing, advocating, and bringing people together around issues that matter.

So when I talk about this community, I’m not talking from one perspective.

I’m looking at it as:

  • a parent
  • a business owner
  • someone who works inside systems
  • someone who also sees where those systems fall short
  • someone who actually uses and relies on what this community has

I’m not disconnected from the impact of decisions made at the municipal level.

I’m directly affected by them, just like everyone else here.
